Groundbreaking Ceremony for the New Extension in Peiting
Approximately 4,600 square meters of new usable space

ept GmbH in Peiting is adding a new extension. The internationally active family-owned company is responding to strong employee growth and the steadily rising market demand for connectors. The new building will create an additional 4,600 square meters of usable space, spread over two floors. “Our current facilities in Peiting are no longer sufficient to accommodate our strong workforce growth of 37 percent over the past three years alone. An expansion of the production halls is therefore urgently needed,” explained Thomas Guglhör, Managing Director of ept, during the symbolic groundbreaking ceremony on Monday, July 2, 2018.
Following the 2,500-square-meter expansion already completed at the Buching founding plant in 2013 and the new buildings constructed in 2017 in Habartov, Czech Republic, and Chesterfield, USA, the main plant in Peiting is now also gaining more workspace.
In the new plant expansion, the stamping shop and warehouse on the ground floor will be expanded by approximately 3,100 square meters. The upper floor will house a modern training workshop, as well as the company’s first cafeteria and additional office and meeting rooms. 300 square meters are allocated for office storage and a server room. The new facilities will be built to be accessible for people with disabilities, completely free of thresholds, and equipped with an elevator. The family-owned company is investing six million euros in this project. “The new addition will be operated with the same sustainability standards that customers have come to expect from ept,” says Bernhard Guglhör, founder and partner of ept GmbH, referring to the company’s existing measures for renewable energy supply. The new building is scheduled to be completed by fall 2019. “The schedule is really ambitious. But we need the new workspace as soon as possible, because market demand for our connectors has been rising for years.”
The existing employee parking lot, which must make way for the new building, will be relocated to a site leased from the municipality of Peiting across the street. “The new parking lot offers enough space for all current and new employees. In addition, the new employee entrance is located on the Pürschlingstraße side of the building, making it easy to reach,” says Thomas Guglhör.
And the managing director already has his sights set on further projects: a new truck docking station and the expansion of the currently three-lane strip galvanizing line by an additional four lanes are already in the planning stages and are expected to complete the facility in the near future.
