Standard connectors for all standards
ept PCB connectors are used internationally in demanding applications, including industrial automation, sensor technology, data processing and communication, control and measurement technology, medical technology, automotive engineering, transportation, and military and security technology.
The focus of ept’s board-to-board catalog connectors is on the in-house development and manufacture of high-quality connectors using press-fit and soldering technology. ept connectors comply with all relevant industry standards, including COM Express®, CompactPCI®, VPX (VITA 46), VMEbus, PC/104, and other established standards for modular electronic systems, thereby ensuring maximum compatibility and reliability in professional applications.
Based on innovative product ideas and state-of-the-art manufacturing technologies, ept offers comprehensive turnkey solutions in the field of board-to-board catalog connectors and assembly technology. The extensive portfolio is also characterized by a wide variety of options: PCB connectors are available in all standard pitch sizes, various stack heights, and with maximum scalability, enabling customized solutions for many applications.

Customized solutions for maximum precision
For decades, leading OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers have relied on ept’s custom automotive connector solutions for PCB interconnects. A key unique selling point is the proprietary Tcom press® press-fit zone, which is specifically designed to meet the high demands of the automotive industry. Using this proven press-fit zone, ept currently manufactures over 5 billion press-fit contacts per year.
The focus is consistently on individually developed connection solutions that are precisely tailored to customer-specific specifications, installation space requirements, electrical and mechanical requirements, and series production processes. ept supports projects from development through to series production, taking into account all relevant standards and methods such as IATF 16949, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, and traceability.
A key USP is the fully integrated value chain under one roof: product and process development, in-house tooling, stamping, electroplating, injection molding, and assembly. The development and manufacturing of customer-specific solutions take place exclusively at ept locations in Europe—ensuring maximum process reliability, quality, and on-time delivery.

The History of ept
ept GmbH was founded in 1973 by Bernhard Guglhör in Buching, initially under the name “Bernhard Guglhör Präzisionsteile.” To this day, ept GmbH maintains a facility in Buching, where experienced toolmakers and engineers focus primarily on the development and production of the company’s own processing machines and tools.
Since 1979, ept GmbH’s headquarters has been in Peiting, from where the electronics company launched its international success story. Today, ept’s manufacturing sites include locations in the Czech Republic, the U.S., and China, along with a global sales network. The company has been ISO-certified since 2005 and has been following the IATF 16949:2016 standard since 2018. Additionally, ept is certified to ISO 9001:2015, ISO 50001:2018, and ISO 14001:2015.
In-house product development has been a key factor in the company’s success throughout its more than 50-year history. As early as 1980, the DIN 41612 connectors were launched on the market, followed in the coming years by the PC/104 and PC/104-Plus, hm 2.0, Advanced TCA, and Micro TCA product groups, and finally, in 2012, by the Colibri SMT connector system for COM Express applications.
Furthermore, as early as 2001, the Tcom-press® press-fit zone developed by ept was approved for automotive applications. Numerous additional
product developments are planned for the coming years, aiming to strengthen the company’s reputation as a manufacturer of precision technology.
