Flexible board-to-board spacing
The high mis-insertion protection of the One27 connectors allows the male and female headers to be inserted variably within a range of 1.5 mm. By combining the different mounting heights, both small and larger PCB spacing can thus be achieved.

Permissible Misalignment Tolerances
One27 SMT connectors tolerate a misalignment of 0.7 mm in both the longitudinal and transverse axes during mating.

Permissible Angular Tilt Tolerances
When mating One27 PCB connectors, the female connector can be inserted into the male connector at an angle of up to 4° along the longitudinal axis and 2° along the transverse axis.

One27 SMT PCB connectors with a 1.27 mm pitch

Our One27 SMT PCB connectors with a 1.27 mm pitch now deliver exactly that—and much more: they are ideally suited for a wide range of mezzanine, board-to-board, and board-to-cable applications in SMT, while being extremely robust and easy to process, and moreover verifiably compatible with existing 1.27 mm pitch SMT connectors already on the market. With a selection of three different designs for both male and female connectors, as well as high anti-misinsertion protection, virtually any PCB pitch from 8 to 20.00 mm and any PCB layout can be realized. Additionally, we offer the One27 IDC female connector not only individually but also with a customizable cable assembly. There really is something for every need! Optimal processability is ensured by a coplanarity tolerance of just 0.1 mm and an impressive tolerance range of ±0.7 mm or ±4° longitudinally and ±2° transversely. FAQ: Questions and Answers About One27 SMT PCB Connectors
How can One27 SMT PCB connectors be assembled?
The One27 connector system is manufactured using surface mount technology (SMT) and is therefore soldered directly onto printed circuit boards. The connectors are typically supplied in tape-and-reel packaging, which enables fully automated pick-and-place assembly. Positioning pins on the underside of the One27 connectors ensure precise positioning on the printed circuit board. ept also guarantees a maximum contact coplanarity of 0.1 mm to ensure reliable soldering during processing.
In what ways can printed circuit boards be connected to each other using One27 SMT connectors?
The various configurations of the One27 connector family allow for the connection of printed circuit boards (PCBs) in parallel, horizontal, or right-angle arrangements, as well as the connection of ribbon cables to the PCB.
What PCB spacing options are available with the One27 connectors?
With One27 PCB connectors, a minimum PCB spacing of 8.00 mm and a maximum PCB spacing of 20.00 mm can be achieved. This is made possible, on the one hand, by the large 1.5 mm over-insertion range. The male and female connectors can thus be separated by up to 1.5 mm while still ensuring optimal and reliable contact. Additionally, the One27 low-, mid-, and high-profile heights can be combined in nine variations to create different PCB spacings.

Why is the contact between the blade and the spring strip particularly reliable in One27 connectors?
In One27 connectors, electrical contact is established via a double-lobed spring contact that encloses the contact pin of the blade strip. This ensures reliable contact on at least one side of the contact pin, even if the connectors are misaligned. Furthermore, contact is made via the smooth, rolled surface of the spring contact. This prevents wear on the contact surface and chip formation when inserting One27 connectors.

Are ept's One27 SMT PCB connectors compatible with other connectors on the market?
The One27 connector system is fully compatible with connectors from other manufacturers. The compatibility of One27 connectors is confirmed in test reports, which you can request at sales@eptusa.com.
In which applications are One27 PCB connectors used?
One27 SMT connectors are suitable for all applications where PCBs need to be connected securely while taking up minimal space. With a range of orientations, heights, and connection technologies, One27 connectors provide full flexibility for arranging the PCBs and selecting the interconnect method. Whether stacked in parallel at various distances, mounted horizontally side by side, oriented at right angles, or linked via ribbon cable, the choice of configuration remains entirely yours.
What types of currents can be transmitted using One27 connectors?
A 50-pin One27 connector can handle up to 1.4 A at an ambient temperature of 20°C. For detailed specifications, please request our test reports at sales@eptusa.com.
What degree of misalignment do One27 PCB connectors tolerate during mating?
One27 connectors feature a high misalignment tolerance. When mating male and female connectors, a center misalignment of 0.7 mm is permitted in both the longitudinal and transverse axes. The angular misalignment tolerance is 4° in the longitudinal direction and 2° in the transverse direction.
Is the One27 IDC connector available without a ribbon cable?
Yes, ept supplies the IDC connector from the One27 product family without cables. This option enables you to assemble the cables in-house and select the exact cable length required for your application. Please refer to the installation instructions for guidance. However,
ept also provides custom cable assembly for the One27 IDC connector, tailored to your specific requirements.
Does ept also offer the One27 IDC connector pre-assembled with a cable?
Yes, ept offers the One27 IDC connector strip with insulation displacement terminals and pre-assembled cables. You can freely choose the orientation of the connectors, the number of pins, and the cable length. You also have the option to choose from three different cable types.
Are the One27 SMT connectors also available in tape-and-reel packaging?
Yes, One27 SMT connectors are typically supplied in tape-and-reel packaging, which enables fully automated pick-and-place processing. You are also welcome to inquire about other packaging options. The One27 IDC header is generally supplied in tray packaging.
Are One27 PCB connectors UL-recognized components?
Yes, One27 connectors from ept are UL-recognized components in the United States and Canada.
Are ept PCB connectors RoHS-compliant?
RoHS (Restriction of the Use of Certain Hazardous Substances) is the directive restricting the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment.
We confirm that One27 connectors from ept are compliant with RoHS Directive 2011/65/EU, as evidenced by the RoHS certificate. For more information, please visit RoHS & REACH.

The short lead times for One27 PCB connectors were the deciding factor in our decision to purchase the required 1.27 mm pitch connectors from ept.
With the One27 connectors, we can retain the existing PCB layout. This means we can easily transition to ept’s SMT connectors without any design modifications.
Thanks to the offset connectors on ept's angled One27 strips, we do not require a second camera to verify the quality of the soldering.
Thanks to ept, we can now purchase the IDC connector strip with a 1.27 mm pitch as a loose unit, i.e., without pre-assembled cables.
The soldering test for ept's One27 SMT connectors demonstrated their excellent processability. This perspective on connector evaluation was new to me during the selection process.
I had never before seen direct proof of how well connectors can be soldered onto a circuit board. The soldering test for the One27 PCB connectors provided clear evidence: it demonstrates the security of the solder joint between the contacts and the circuit board.
It was very helpful for us to be able to purchase IDC connector strips with a 1.27 mm pitch and such a wide range of contact counts individually.
We would love to visit your beautiful location, but from a quality perspective, we see no reason to do so
