The two companies, Rosenberger Hochfrequenztechnik GmbH & Co. KG (“Rosenberger”) and ept GmbH (“ept”), are combining their expertise to jointly develop hybrid connectors for automotive applications. 

Modern automotive E/E architectures utilize both high-speed data connectors for differential data transmission—such as those used for Automotive Ethernet—and traditional signal and power connectors—such as those used for CAN or LIN buses.The ept-Rosenberger partnership integrates both types into combined hybrid connectors. To connect a hybrid connector to a printed circuit board (PCB), either conventional soldering or the advantageous press-fit technology can be used. 

Both companies are among the leading providers in their respective fields: Rosenberger’s broad connectorportfolio, which includes the H-MTD®, MTD®, HFM®, and FAKRA series, among others, is known worldwide for its high-speed data transmission in automotive applications, such as Ethernet for ADAS or infotainment. 
ept has made a name for itself with its Tcom® press-fit zone in the field of custom interface connectors for automotive ECUs, particularly for critical applications such as airbags, ABS/ESP, or engine control systems.

The hybrid connector system newly developed by Rosenberger and ept offers a whole range of advantages for OEMs and their suppliers by integrating the strengths of both providers. Additionally, further benefits may result, such as space savings, greater reliability under challenging environmental conditions, or simplified assembly processes.
