Rosenberger Hochfrequenztechnik GmbH & Co. KG (“Rosenberger”) and ept GmbH (“ept”) are combining their expertise to jointly develop hybrid connectors for automotive applications. 

Modern automotive E/E architectures utilize both high-speed data connectors for differential data transmission—for example, for Automotive Ethernet—as well as traditional signal and power connectors, such as those used for CAN or LIN buses.The ept-Rosenberger collaboration integrates both types into combined hybrid connectors. To connect a hybrid connector to the printed circuit board (PCB), either conventional soldering technology or the advantageous press-fit technology is used. 

Both companies are among the leading providers in their respective fields:Rosenberger’s extensive connector portfolio, which includes the H-MTD®, MTD®, HFM®, and FAKRA series, is globally renowned for its high-speed data transmission in automotive applications, such as Ethernet for ADAS or infotainment. 
ept has made a name for itself in the field of custom interface connectors for automotive ECUs with its Tcom® press-fit zone, particularly for critical applications such as airbags, ABS/ESP, or engine control systems.

The hybrid connector system newly developed by Rosenberger and ept offers a whole range of benefits for OEMs and their suppliers by integrating the strengths of both providers.
